3 Tips for Radiant Skin During Winter
Old Man Winter is approaching, and he can be ferocious! Snowstorms, freezing temperatures, as well as, windy and icy conditions can wreak havoc on your skin. 1) Warm water wins!
You might be tempted to ‘defrost’ and warm up underneath your shower head or soak in a steaming bath, but don’t. Hot water tends to dry out your skin, causing it to lose its natural oils. Keep your showers or baths short and refrain from using hot water.
Harsh weather conditions can cause your skin to get overly dry and irritated. In addition, dead skin cells can create a dull appearance, especially in areas that require a little more TLC, such as elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. Use a gentle sugar scrub 1-2 times per week. Exfoliating can slough off dead skin cells and reveal the glow hiding underneath. 😊
Once you have showered and exfoliated, apply body oil or moisturizing body butter to your damp skin. This will seal in moisture, as well as soften your skin. Using a thick moisturizer can help combat dryness associated with going between cold temperatures outside and warmer temperatures in the house.
