5 Tips to Smash Your Goals


January is the time when we start fresh with everything: fitness goals, business goals, career goals, and personal goals. It’s the beginning of the beginning for everything that we wish to accomplish in the new year.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you don’t need a new year, a new month, or a new day to decide to make a change. All you need is the desire to make it happen and go for it now.


Below are 5 tips you can use to accomplish your goals and make this year one for the books:


1) Be clear on what success looks like for you

Visualize what the end goal will look like. If you can see it in your mind’s eye, you can make it reality.


2) Write your goals down

Seeing your goals written down makes them real.


3) Start small

Break your goals down into smaller, more manageable tasks. Doing this makes your tasks easier to complete and your larger goals closer to being accomplished.



4) Create an action plan

Outline how you intend to complete each task in an effort to accomplish the larger goal. Create due dates to keep you on target. As you go along, you might find that you need to rearrange some tasks or change some due dates. That’s fine, as long as you keep going.


5) Stick with it!

Be consistent!! If you need to, get an accountability partner to help you stay on track. It’s helpful to have weekly conference calls or meet-ups with your accountability partner(s) to help you stay focused.


Running a small business keeps me busy and I've found that it's so easy to get caught up with mundane tasks that have nothing to do with the bottom line. These tips have been instrumental in helping me meet deadlines and short-term goals. I hope that they will do the same for you.
