Flowers are blooming, days are warming up, and your skincare needs are changing. From being indoors with hot, dry air to battling the harsh, cold conditions outside, your skin is ready to be prepped for spring.
Your springtime skin has been in hibernation and here are six steps to awaken and refresh your seasonal glow:
1. Exfoliate Your Skin
Slough off that winter skin and get those sleepy skin cells moving with a sugar or salt scrub. Make sure you show your knees, elbows, and feet some extra love since they can get a little rough.
Your skin is your largest organ and your organs need hydration to function. Keep the water flowing and keep your skin glowing!
3. Wear Sunscreen
Protect your skin from harmful UV rays and sun damage by applying sunscreen before going outside. Cloudy days aren’t exempt from those harmful rays, either.
4. Eat Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Fresh fruits and vegetables can be a delicious, tasty snack. They can also be a good source of vitamins and nutrients. Some foods that can help promote healthy skin are carrots, watermelon, broccoli, and apples. Eat up!
5. Work Out
Exercise can get the blood flowing. Take a brisk walk, take a jog through your neighborhood, or my personal favorite, go for a hike. Increased blood flow helps maintain healthy skin cells. Take advantage of the fresh spring weather and get some outdoor exercise.
6. Clean Your Makeup Brushes
Spring cleaning isn’t just for the garage and your closets. It’s also a good time to clean your makeup brushes.
Say 'goodbye' to your winter skin and 'hello' to the Springtime Glow!
