September is an exciting month!! Summer will end, and autumn will begin. September brings slightly cooler temperatures (heavy on the slightly, if you’re in Southern California), the kids are back in school, and pumpkin-everything begins to pop up like crazy.
September also ushers in Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course, Christmas.
It also means I can go hiking without breaking into a sweat at 6:00 in the morning!! Summertime hikes can be the pits, so I’m definitely looking forward to cooler days.
September also represents Self-Care Awareness Month.
This is a reminder that taking time to care for yourself is necessary and non-negotiable. We oftentimes put ourselves on the back burner to make sure that everyone else is taken care of. Well, you deserve the same care and love that you give to others.
Schedule your self-care and go for a walk, do some gardening, read that novel you bought two years ago, get a much needed massage, sleep in, or do nothing and be okay with that! Self-care is personal. It’s what you want it to be and I implore you to spend a little more time and attention on YOU.
Be present and bask in the moment.
