How I Self-Care

Self-care is a hot topic these days. The need to make your mental, emotional, and physical well-being a priority is something that many of us find hard to do because of our daily obligations, such as being spouses, parents, caregivers, business owners, students, and employees. We're so caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives that we forget that we need to take some time for ourselves. Taking time for ourselves could be anything from soaking in a hot tub, to sitting on your patio or balcony in the early morning hours listening to the birds chirp, to having a full spa day.

Self-care means different things to different people.

For me, I find my best self in nature.

Hiking is very therapeutic for me. Being one with nature is calming. I love the sound of the earth beneath my boots, the feel of the sunshine on my skin, and listening to the wind rustle the leaves in the trees. It's one of my happy places. I look forward to my Me-time.

Self-care isn't selfish. It's necessary. However you choose to self-care, take the time to make sure that your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being is in check. You're no good to anyone, if you aren't good to you!
